An extra añejo distilled at a tequilera that has since gone quiet, by a maestro tequilero who has since passed. The liquid cannot be made again.
I.
The Liquid
Eight years in American oak. Past the point most would bottle. Long on the nose, caramelized banana, ripe pear, warm vanilla, toasted oak. Quiet at the finish.
II.
The Vessel
Cut crystal, suede collar at the neck, sealed in a velvet case. Each bottle is numbered, N° 0001 through N° 1000.
III.
The Shelf
The bottle is the private form of Ghost Reserve — for the shelf, the study, the evening with two glasses. It is not reordered. It is not replaced.
When this expression is gone, it's gone.
